Based in Vancouver, BC, Katherine is principal trumpet of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra (BC) and the Newport Symphony (OR) and performs regularly with other orchestras including the Vancouver Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra and others. A versatile chamber musician, she is a member of the Turning Point Ensemble and a founding member of the One, Two, Trio brass trio, She recently appeared as soloist in the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre in Brazil. Katherine teaches at the VSO School of Music, Vancouver Academy of Music, and Vancouver Community College. She also sings with professional choral ensembles including musica intima and Vancouver Chamber Choir. She holds an M.Mus. in trumpet performance from the Longy School of Music and an A.B. in English and Music from Harvard University.
